Description: 260 whole and partial quilt blocks rectangular in shape and measuring 8.5" x 2.5" in the Streak of Lightning set. There are two 1" borders terra cotta, then white .
Edge Treatment: The finish is irregular in width and machine applied to front and finished to back of quilt with a running stitch
Quilting Designs: vertical line quilting running through center of each block that echoes the set of the quilt
Quilting: fair, sparse amount on quilt
Condition/Restoration: good, spotting, stains on back
Provenance paper that accompanies this quilt purchased by Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild states that the quilt was made c. 1920 in Buffalo Gap, TX by Cora Drake Clayton and that the cotton was grown on the farm there and hand carded to make batting.
Notations: There is a label on back of quilt as well as hanging sleeve.
